mid-day/empty park
I took the girls to the park today, there were no dogs but they still had a good time roaming around the 37 acres. I did just over 2 miles on the pedometer and they did a lot more with all of the running back and forth. Visiting Dog was walking behind me on the way out, I’m not sure out of exhaustion or that she just didn’t want to leave.
It was nice, a little sunny, not very muddy and not too cold. I am sure they are out for the afternoon.

Dogs look like they are having a great time. I don’t know where you live, but if I let my dogs go off leash, the Park Rangers would swoop up on me and give me a ticket. I know in England, they are allowed to go into pubs. The only place my dogs can go is to the Vet, or to the pet store, and in the park on a leash. Poor pups!

That is too sad that you don’t have an off leash park. Here in Dog Friendly Washington state there are several. This 37 acre off leash park is about 1 mile from my house.

I’ve a friend who owns 300+ acres, and I take my dogs there every Sunday. They love going wild chasing the rabbits (who, fortunately, know the terrain better than the dogs!) and the shear freedom of just running, running, and running! It’s the most glorious thing to watch them run like that! If you don’t have any local off-leash parks, you might want to see if any of your friends have some acres (I recommend at least 5 acres) you can “borrow” for your dogs every now and then. Alternatively, go to your city or county council and ask to speak to them about converting a park to this need. It doesn’t need to be big - in Colorado Springs, one of the most popular dog parks is simply an old baseball field!

Look at them trot along!
You have grass at your dogpark? There is no grass at the Magnuson offleash area. :/

My city is building a small off-leash park. I can’t wait until it’s done which should be around the end of this year. Woo hoo!
