The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
My oldest friend Shelly (not that she is the oldest person I know, but that we have been friends for 28 years), anyway Shelly had a pass for the Narnia movie that is opening on Friday so we met downtown and waited in line for an hour had a great time chatting and then started the slow cattle crawl into the theater and then another line while we waited for yet another check. They went through everyones bags and waved a metal detector over each person going into the movie. My guess is because it was a preview and they wanted to make sure no one was bringing in video equipment.
After we all finally got in, we got to sit through the radio stations (that was sponsoring the show) full set of rhetoric.
Finally the movie. It was very good! The animation was fantastic and the story brought me back to my childhood. I loved the CS Lewis books and didn’t remember the Prince Caspian story very much but maybe it was because I loved The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe so much that I read it several times. Wishing I could escape into the back of my closet into a magical world and escape.
It had the basic moral law of good vs evil and CS Lewis’ twist on what comes around goes around.
I enjoyed it and would recommend it, especially if like the mix of actors and fantastic animation, or if you are just a fan of the CS Lewis books.
the makers of Prince Caspian kept to the original story better than i would have expected… i had heard they were going to make it into a silly pure-action flick, but thankfully this was not the case
