Momma duck and ducklings stopped 4 lanes of traffic on Pac Highway today. Seems they were going to Fred Meyer also. Once I parked I went over for more pictures and followed them along as there was a crow walking behind them trying to lunch on a little duckling. As long as I was there the crow stayed in the tree. Momma duck kept turning around to confront the crow so I know she had it covered. So cute.

I love it when people stop for these little guys. A week or so ago, I encountered a full-on battalion of goslings waddling behind 3 adult geese crossing west marginal over to the swampy area. There must have been about 30 of them in total. I was so happy to stop and watch them squiggle under the chain-link fence to get in. There were so many, I was worried that other drivers would get impatient with waiting for them, but all ended well. It made me wish I had a camera (okay I’ll admit it, AND A BLOG).
