Going to sleep last night was much easier than the night before, not the going to bed but the falling asleep. Probably because I had been up since 2:30 in the morning.
The only delay was just as I was getting ready, Socia pulls Lackey out with the bases loaded. I knew, Lackey knew, everyone knew they would blow the 4 run lead. And they did. The Angels went form a 4 run lead to a 2 run hole.
I had to go to bed and so didn’t get to see the Angels turn it around and win. When I turned off the TV, they were actually back up by 1 run and I woke up wondering if they held on.
On my middle of the night drive in to work I hear that they did and the series now goes back to New York on Saturday. I am not a big Angels fan, but they are in the same division as the Mariners and If we can’t be in the World Series, the next best thing is someone from the division, right?
New York is still up a game in the series and The Angels will have to win the next two to get there but its doable.
Once we get to the World Series however I will be torn, not because I want the Phillies to win but that is where Raul Ibanez landed when the M’s let him go. In fact Jamie Moyer, after a life long career with the M’s was let go last year, he landed at the Phillies and he won his first world series. Unfortunately Jamie wont be playing but he’s still on the Roster.
So its 4 am, my thoughts are still disjointed.
1)went to bed early, thinking baseball
2)woke up happy to see the A’s pulled it out
3)would like the A’s to go all the way
4)so that I can then route for the Phillies to beat them. ????
Need Coffee.
