Productive Morning

This morning was a gem.  We were up early and at the garage before 8:00 talked them into taking the truck for an oil change same day.  We were then at Eldorado Nature Park for a walk and went out to breakfast.  We went to the nursery to pick up some things for Lori’s horticulture class and were home by noon.

That’s when my day became less productive and more like a lazy Saturday reading and watching TV.  Lori worked on prepping for classes.  We headed out to pick up the truck about 4:30.  I then made dinner and continued on with my lazy day, Lori continued to work.

The park was lovely.  You may have heard that in rained here on Tuesday.  Serious rain, record-setting for September 15th.  We had about 2 inches.  The walk is usually quite dusty but today everything was clean and green and bright.  I didn’t get a shot of the bunny we saw but there were so many birds….

Lovely pictures. Is the second bird called a “Green Heron”? We have them in the Seattle area as well as the first picture “Great Blue Heron”. I went outside yesterday morning and it felt like Fall. (Oh wait—it is fall).

I wondered about you and that rainstorm. No flash flood damage to your place? Were you able to capture any of that water?

We had some localized flooding in the back yard, but nothing major. The only capture we are able to do is in the actual yard. We have built the yard most everything is permeable and acts as a sponge. It has been hot since the rain and it still looks “damp” in our yard.
