School Garden Plot

We had rain on Tuesday.  Serious rain.  Lots of urban flooding, lots of wrecks on the freeways, roads washing away.  Out little back yard had some localized flooding and at work we had seven buildings with leaking roofs.

Lori’s horticulture class was supposed to plant their garden plots during Tuesday’s class, but with the rain it wasn’t possible.  The garden was far too wet and everything would have just compacted and reversed all of the tilling that the crew had done the week before.

Today it was in the upper 90’s but Lori and I went ahead and planted her plot anyway.  This way she can demonstrate and help the students this Tuesday during class (There is rumors of rain but the forecast here is very unpredictable).

The students each get a 10 x 10 garden plot and have to plant both seeds in rows and seeds in a scatter method along with starts.  We planted 95% of her garden so she still has a little to demonstrate with.  She also wont be completely filthy for her second class later in the day.

Here are the beginning photos.  I am sure I will be down there later in the semester to help in on the grounds or gardens so I will update her garden then.
