Malcesine

We spent a lovely day in Malcesine yesterday.  Up early and on a bus for about 90 minutes, then we gathered at a cafe on lake Garda and had our drawing lesson.  We split off on our own and did some shopping and had lunch.

I had ordered the Prawns because. Well simply it wasn’t pasta.   When Lori ordered the same thing the waiter said it would be better if we got the fish platter for two.  I had seen it on the menu and it was 46 Euro, so less than the separate dishes so we went for it.   However we left well over half of it behind because it was huge!  This photo is after we had dished up some for each of us.

We also spent some time shopping and going around the shops and along the lake.  We met up with the group and took a cable car to the top of the mountain.  The view was amazing.  We had a beverage of choice, mine was coffee, and then headed back down the cable car.  It was a very fun day!

That seems to be common in Italy. I remember ordering what I thought was a side dish of charcuterie and they brought me an enormous, dinner-sized plate! They must think of everything as family style. Glad you’re having such a great time and I hope your toe is better.

Wow, I wish I were there to “help” you finish that beautiful plate of fish!
