Done and Done (now what)

It has been a while. We have been so very busy at work and so very busy finishing up Yoga Teacher Training. I also started “working” at the studio on Wednesdays. It is the perfect situation where I get to help out, feel involved and included and my pay is unlimited yoga! Win win win.

Work still has a month of being super busy, this next week being the craziest. I thought I would get in here tonight and get an update posted.

Yesterday we had our final exam for Yoga Teacher Training, as of today there are 10 newly certified yoga teacher in the area. The written went pretty quick about 30 minutes or so. Then the 10 of us each taught our self created sequence to the other nine. After being in yoga class for an hour and then the tests made for a very long day of yoga.

Today was the last day. After yoga class we had the graduation ceremony along with a vegan potluck. We got to meet husbands, parents, children and friends of our cohorts. Also other members from the studio came to celebrate.

It is an amazing group of people whom I genuinely calls friends. We went out yesterday to celebrate after the full day yesterday, it was a wonderful time. We have a tentative dinner date with one new friend and her husband. I am excited to support these new teachers as they branch out.

There has not been a spare moment of the last two weeks that I wasn’t studying. Including voice recording my sequence so I could play it on repeat in my daily walks. Today after the potluck when I was putting all my study stuff away there was a freeing feeling and a 4.5 mile walk just listening to music.

Six days later

What can I say, I’ve been doing yoga. Walking. Working. Some yoga studying, yoga practice, muscle and skeletal study and then some more yoga.

I did mange a tiny bit of weeding but with the rain it really is not noticeable. Come April when these full day weekends are over I’ll just have to catch up.

Work is also picking up and I was asked to go in early yesterday, yesterday(?), yea I am losing track of days. I said I could but pushed back the time I was willing to log in so I could get my walk in.

It’s a good thing because there was no walk today. The three miles I missed will need to be spread out and added to the next four days if I want to make the hundred.

February hasn’t even started and I’m already thinking I’ll just have to do my best. With fewer days to start with then full weekends I’m not sure I’ll hit one hundred.

Other things around here that need to happen, like catching and fixing kittens have not even been attempted. in fact we saw one of them several blocks away tonight and most nights they are not sleeping here.

I haven’t been in my art studio in a month, well except to fetch colored pencils to color in the anatomy book.

My mind is full of yoga and today when we had to teach Surya Namaskara A, it went pretty well. All the practice went right out of my head when it was my turn but I got through it with no issues and got the first one under my belt.

Tomorrow is another full day, guess I should call it a day.

Body and Brain

My body and my brain are exhausted! There has been so much to cover, practice and teach this weekend.

We ended up not having the teaching quiz yesterday, it is next weekend. I think she purposely said Saturday so we would practice but it is next week. We did have to teach it to others and have others teach it to us at least a dozen times each day.

Along with some in depth pose adjustments. Mine was in Warrior Two and that had me in this pose for at least 10 minutes for micro adjustments.

I have a bunch of homework for the week, studying skeletal structure and muscle names along with the poses we learned and some reading. Not to mention at least three classes.

Im behind in my walking which is to be expected. But I had to go get a couple miles once we were home tonight just to loosen up my body.

Winter Schedule

This is my schedule through March! Now to be fair I rarely sleep 8 hours so several of those days I will have a couple extra “open” hours in the morning.

I am also not committing to walking on Saturday or Sunday, with 8 hours in teacher training each of those days it doesn’t seem doable. But I will still aim for the 100 miles, If for no other reason it helps my mental health.
